Passionate about astronomy

Michael Wright has been an active amateur astronomer since 1989. He’s owned many different telescopes over the years and is an expert in visual observation of the night sky, especially galaxies. Michael has been actively involved in the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada, especially with the Kitchener-Waterloo Centre, serving as their Outreach Coordinator and President at various times. More than anything, Michael loves sharing views of the night sky with others!

Michael leads his tours with a 300mm f/4.9 Skywatcher Flextube 300p Dobsonian telescope, which allows him to show detailed views of the moon, planets, star clusters, nebulas and galaxies.

Outside of his love for astronomy, Michael teaches Applied Science at Conestoga College in Kitchener.
